GOOD WINE NO CORK!?

Last night I tried this wine: 2009 A to Z  Chardonnay. It was on my list of wines to try, recommended by Sunset magazine. I have recently visited Oregon wine country and  I have been on the hunt for it. The other night it finally appeared on the shelves of my favorite store, so I picked up a bottle, for about $15.00. Brought it home and put the corkscrew in only to find out that this is one of those wines with a screw on cap. It baffles my mind because even as a child my father always taught me that the cork is an integral part of wine tasting. Saying that if the cork is dry you might as well toss the whole bottle or use it as vinegar, because it hasn't been stored properly. Much to my suprise this wine was superb. A smooth and mellow light white, that went perfectly with our meager dinner of curried lentil  and pumpkin soup! I recommend this wine.

Hi Sis,
Thank you, I will for sure add this wine to MY list of wines to try. Love the label,,,,I know this may sound silly but, I buy alot of wines because of the labels. It's the art thing!!

I like labels too, but am a bit leary to try on that basis only, there is one I, really tempted to try called Marilyn Merlot... cute label!

I love Chardonnay. I have a glass everyday. It is an Australian label, Kangaroo. It is USD13.30 a bottle which is very affordable to have as an everyday wine. I will have to check out this label with my regular wine dealer if they can get a bottle for me:D Nowadays a lot of wine comes with screw cap. I find that more convenient.
