ORANGE....

Orange you glad I  did'nt say Banana!
Did you know that oranges and lemons are packed according to sizes; Oranges are packed in eleven commercial sizes  and lemons in six;as follows...Oranges 80--100--126--150--176--200--220--252--288--344--392...Lemons 252--300--360--432--490--588.Different sizes for different uses.  All sizes are equally good. Medium sizes are best for sections, for slices all sizes are good. They keep well and may generally be stored successfully for a week or two. Store fruit in a cool place around 50 degrees is best.
This article reminds me of going to work with my Dad and getting to go into the big walk in cooler. He would always cut me a piece of vanilla ice cream, it came in kind of long rectangle that when sliced was about the size of an ice cream sandwich and of course topped with a maraschino cherry!
Here is a familiar sounding
ORANGE-NOGG
6 QUART OF MILK(very cold)
3/4 CUP SUGAR
3 QUART FRESH ORANGE JUICE
1/2 CUP GRATED ORANGE PEEL
place milk and sugar in container and mix to dissolve
add orange juice and peel and mix well. Taste and add more sugar if needed. May use evaporated milk diluted instead of milk.Serve at once with green striped straws. YIELDS:40 servings
I think this would be good in a blender with ice.. in a much smaller porportion!
